The Beautiful Vendome Pool, Dance Hall

                                                         and Entertainment Complex

The Vendome Company was owned by Mr. Townsley and Mr. Lewis.  They used the Park Hotel well, across Broadway, to fill the pool originally.

The Vendome pool was built on the south side of Broadway, directly across from where the Sulphur Library is now.   The Vendome Well is still flowing and was the largest shallow artesian well on the Vendome grounds.

The Vendome Well being drilled, 1922.

The Vendome "Natatorium."  The character in the left middle-ground looks like the "Nosferatu" vampire of the movies!

A photo showing a crowd in the pool and observers, and the dance hall and restaurant in the background, in the 1920's.  The dance hall drew visitors from around the state and nation.
